Some of these include: SeatGeek, Global Energy Efficiency, Regal Wings and Crowdtap. SeatGeek was founded in 2009 by Russ D’Souza and Jack Groetzinger. Their goal was to facilitate ticket purchase for their clients. Today it is the world’s largest event ticket search engine.
Global Energy Efficiency was also set up in 2009. Founders Maximo Centeno, Johnny Jaar Lissette Reynoso, and Vladimir Reynoso sought to enhance the environment by saving supermarkets money in how they use their energy. For example, they put in nighttime covers for fridge cases, use LEDs instead of regular lights, and more efficient fans. For one supermarket alone, $100,000 in a year was saved.
Regal Wings was founded in 2006 by Eli Ostreicher. This luxurious travel company boasts clients including: Rolex and Maroon 5. Its premise is “I will always be there for you,” in a digitally-based travel world.
Founded in 2009 by Brandon Evans and Kareem Kouddous, Crowdtap seeks to encourage social-media influencers to represent brands. Today their clients include: Nestle and Walmart.
All these companies love being in New York for various reasons. It’s good for their image, a lot of their clients are based in the Big Apple, it is where “vibrant talent” can be found, lots of young people just starting out, there is a sense that nothing is impossible, and more.
